our love story

Jackie and Troy’s love story began on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Manayunk. Jackie first noticed Troy while he was having fun with his friends, playing stump and enjoying the carefree vibe of the day. At the time, she was living with her cousin and roommate, Christine, and they had plans to head to the grocery store to prepare a delicious steak dinner.

On their way, they passed 306, and Jackie spotted her “sleeping beauty” napping on a recliner on Tommy’s porch. As they wandered the grocery aisles, Jackie playfully referred to Troy as her sleeping beauty. She even asked Christine if she thought he might have a girlfriend. Christine’s insightful reply—“Definitely not! He wouldn’t be asleep on a porch in a recliner on a Sunday afternoon”—sparked hope in Jackie’s heart.

Later that evening, Jackie convinced Christine to take their dog, Tina, for a walk, hoping to catch Troy’s attention. The first pass went unnoticed, but on the second, fate smiled upon them. Odin, Tommy’s dog (RIP), came running out to greet Tina, followed closely by Troy and his friend Ryan. 

That night, Jackie and Troy hit it off instantly. They all gathered at Jackie’s place, where Troy and Ryan joined them for dinner—Ryan did most of the cooking, but the laughter and conversation flowed freely. From that moment on, Jackie and Troy became inseparable.

Their first official date was a mini-golf adventure. Although the course they planned to visit was closed, Troy quickly adapted and suggested an alternate location. While the new course wasn’t the best, they spent the evening laughing and enjoying each other’s company, setting the tone for their relationship.

Fast forward to August 2020, when Jackie and Troy moved into their home on Apple Street. Their journey has been filled with love, laughter, unforgettable vacations, and relaxing Sundays spent together. Each moment has strengthened their bond and created cherished memories.

On February 3, 2024 Troy proposed to Jackie at the art museum, a day that marked a significant milestone in their love story and one of the best days of their lives. They both know their wedding day will surpass even that magical moment.

As they prepare to exchange vows on June 13, 2025, Jackie and Troy are excited to embark on this new journey together, surrounded by their beloved family and friends. They look forward to celebrating one of the best days of their lives with all of you!
